This Privacy Policy explains how I, Suraj Soren, collect, use, and protect the personal data of people who visit this portfolio website or get in touch with me about work. I take your privacy seriously and handle all personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who I am
I’m Suraj Soren, a Lead Product Designer and Founder of Studio Soren, based in Birmingham, UK. For the purposes of data protection law, I am the data controller responsible for the personal information collected through this site.
What data I collect
I may collect and process the following types of personal data:
Identity Data: Your name, company name, and job title.
Contact Data: Your email address and phone number.
Technical Data: Your IP address, browser type, and how you accessed the site.
Usage Data: Information about how you navigate and interact with the site.

Directly from you: When you fill in the contact form, email me, or book a call.
Automatically: Through privacy-friendly analytics as you browse the site. These don’t use cookies or identify you (see my Cookie Policy for more detail).
Hosting: The site is hosted on Vercel, whose servers keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and running.
How I use your data
I only use your personal data where I have a lawful basis to do so. In practice, that means:
Responding to enquiries: If you contact me about a project or collaboration, I’ll use your details to reply. This is in my legitimate interest as a freelancer.
Improving this site: Anonymised analytics help me understand what’s working and what isn’t.
Fulfilling agreements: If we work together, I’ll use your data to deliver the services we’ve agreed on.
Sending updates: Only if you’ve explicitly opted in to hear from me.
Data sharing
I don’t sell your data. Ever. I share it only with the few service providers that help me run this site and my work: Vercel (website hosting and anonymous analytics), Resend (delivers messages sent through the contact form to my inbox) and Google (my email). I only share what’s necessary, and I ensure those providers handle data responsibly. Where legally required, I may also disclose data to relevant authorities.
Data security and retention
Messages you send me are stored securely in my Google email account. I only keep personal data for as long as it’s needed — for example, enquiry details are retained for a reasonable period in case you follow up, and then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

Access the personal data I hold about you.
Correct any inaccurate information.
Request deletion of your data.
Restrict or object to how I process it.
Data portability — receive your data in a usable format.
Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis for processing.
